The Ipoh International Convention Centre (IICC) is set to be another new landmark of Ipoh.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Saarani Mohamad explained that the existence of IICC in Ipoh as a convention centre of international standards will spice up the city especially since the pandemic has impacted the world economic sector.
With a new landmark, it will open up opportunities to the locals, besides visitors from other countries, to hold international-level conventions in Ipoh.
“Congratulations and I hope that with the current expertise, it will be managed well to restore confidence from all to hold any official affairs in Ipoh,” he told the media after launching a collaboration ceremony between the Ipoh City Council (MBI), Bond Holdings Sdn Bhd and Sycal Berhad at the main hall of IICC yesterday (December 29).
Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin stated that the cooperation with these two big companies will help realise the vision of the city and bring it to greater heights.
“We hope that the IICC will be the centre of economic drive with innovative city administration to lead to a sustainable city for the welfare of the people. The main aim of the collaboration is to enable successful management of the 28,0000-square feet IICC comprising a banquet hall ideal for various official affairs and activities,” he expressed.
“Bond Holdings Sdn Bhd will manage the Bond Suites which offers accommodation and other facilities. It is located next to IICC, providing co-working space complete with fast internet connection,” he added.
