Some 813 stall tenants at Pasar Besar Ipoh (Ipoh Central Market) will receive stall rental exemption for three months from March till May 2021, alongside aid amounting to RM69,000.
According to the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, Ipoh City Council (MBI) also cares for small-scale business owners who are still operating at Pasar Besar Ipoh and are in need of assistance to continue their businesses.
“The three-month rental exemption is sure to put smiles on the tenants’ faces and reduce their financial burden.
“Also, MBI will be offering reduction of traffic compounds automatically via two payment methods.
“Payment at counters will be given a 30 percent reduction starting from March 1 till September 30.
“Online payments will be given a 50 percent reduction starting from March 1 until the end of the year, to encourage practice of the new normal.
“Hopefully, these new initiatives provide a breath of relief to people from all walks of life, regardless of race and religion, especially to Ipohites,” he said during a presentation of the council’s full board meeting at the designated conference hall today (February 26).
