The Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad, along with the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, spent some time yesterday (March 7) to observe business operations of Ipoh Memory Lane, locally known as Pasar Karat Loken.
Also in attendance were Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi, city secretary Zuraina Kamarul Ariff and senior officers of Ipoh City Council (MBI).
Memory Lane, a popular location among Ipohites and visitors from out of town, operates under adherence to SOPs during the ongoing Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Some 278 licensed stall owners of Memory Lane are operating under a weekly rotation set by the government.
During the on-site visit, Saarani and Rumaizi were seen amiably interacting with business owners and visitors who abided by SOPs while at the premises.
Besides Memory Lane, both Saarani and Rumaizi also observed business operations at Pasar Besar Ipoh (Ipoh Central Market).
