International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8 is a day to appreciate and recognize the achievements of women across the country regardless of background, ethnicity, language, culture, economy or even politics.
The award recipients consisted of those who were an inspiration to the people and their contemporaries from the lowest to the highest economic levels. They consist of cancer survivors, domestic violence survivors, security guards, cleaners, social activists, special aid educators, emotional supporters, frontliners and high rank officials.
KRIS hopes these awards will inspire all women to move forward.
The programme was held on March 8, 2021 at the Royal Ipoh Club and was officiated by Kavarama Subramaniyam, Director of Perak Women’s Development who presented each recipient a certificate and a plaque.
Also present were YB Dato Nolee Ashilin binti Mohammed Radzi, Perak state Exco in Housing, Local Government and Tourism; Datin Normah Hanum, President of Pertubuhan Wanita Prihatin Perak; Dato Mohammed Radzi; Hajjah Zuraina binti Kamarul Ariff, Ipoh City Council Secretary; and Past District Governor Siti Subaidah.
The programme was another feather in the cap of President Pathma Devi, AG Kamarul, IPP Asokan, Rotarian J.Henry, Rotarian Umi Salama, Zubaidah Khalid and Yashantara.
