Day 25: Penang Island Part 2 – Sunrise and Sunset
In another life, long ago, I taught “World and French literature” in Oxford. One book that I have read so many times (one of the 10 most read books in the World) and still read again sometimes is the “Little Prince” by A. de St Exupery. It has influenced my teenager life and my perspective of life and humans in general. Here is a quote from the book to illustrate my choice for this episode:
“One day,’ you said, ‘I watched the sunset forty-three times!’
And a little later you added:
‘You know, when one is that sad, one can get to love the sunset.’
‘Were you that sad, then, on the day of the forty-three sunset?’
But the prince made no answer.”
I love sunsets and sunrises. Penang, being such a small island, allows us to see both easily. Sunrise on the east coast and just 30-35 km on the west coast you can see the sun setting. Here are some of my captures.
Bon voyage.
