Meru Valley Resort has launched a virtual fun run to put the spotlight on nature and getting outdoors for World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) Earth Hour 2021.
Participants of any age can create their own 5km route and choose to run or walk it on Saturday, 27 March.
Once registered, they can pick up their t-shirts and after the run/ walk, provide evidence of the completed 5km. The evidence can be a screenshot of a fitness app or a photo of the machine screen, and finishers will receive their E-certificate.
Meru Valley Resort Director, Edwin Tan said, “Whole families are pledging to run, others are saying they’ll walk, skip, jump or dance to their finish line, and we can’t wait to see the photos.
“A virtual fun run or walk is a good excuse to appreciate the great outdoors with friends and family. We’ve spent months indoors and many people have said how much they benefit from the healing powers of nature, and now it’s our turn to think about how we can help heal the planet.
“Participants are reminded to look after each other and keep socially distant. It is a fun run so overall place and age group awards will not be awarded—but we look forward to sharing stories and photos.”
Meru Valley Resort’s Earth Hour Virtual Race is open for all ages and funds raised will go to WWF-Malaysia to help wildlife conservation efforts. All registrants will be entitled to a unique T-shirt and finishers will receive a customised E-certificate, all for a registration fee of RM20.

- Run and record on any device
- Upload proof
- Get E-certificate
