The Perak police contingent has been told to uphold the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s mandate of making it the leading security institution in the country.
According to the state police chief, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, members of the Sang Saka Biru need to be determined and committed in providing the best services for religion, citizens and the beloved country.
“We shall also stick to the oath of allegiance and promise to defend national sovereignty, maintain the well-being of society and preserve team integrity.
“Hopefully, every sacrifice given with devotion and sincerity from the police force is recognised at the end of our paths by the divine.”
He expressed so while reading out the IGP’s special message during his speech in conjunction with the 214th Police Day Commemoration at the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters in Ipoh earlier today (March 25).
Also present were deputy state police chief, Datuk Pahlawan Mazlan Santarai; Police Family Association (PERKEP) Perak chairperson, Datin Nor Qhadhijah Abdul Wahab; and President of the VAT69 Commando Veteran Association, Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun who was also the former Commissioner of Police in Sabah.
Preceding the speech, Mior inspected an honour guard made up of two officers and 51 personnel from the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) No. 5 based in Ipoh, led by Assistant Superintendent Mohd Dahlan Abdullah.
Also during the ceremony, some 32 officers, staff and civil servants received integrity awards and letters of appreciation from the IGP. Nine of them were commended for not accepting bribery from the public during police operations.
