An accident involving a Proton Saga and a Proton Perdana occurred at Jalan Kampar-Changkat Jong near Masjid Kampung Melayu Langkap, Perak, earlier today (April 2).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, an emergency call regarding the road incident was received around 2.55pm.
“A squad of nine along with two fire vehicles from the Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station plus staff from the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia were rushed to the scene right after.
“Investigations have shown that both cars collided on the same road direction.
“During the accident’s aftermath, the squad found five victims; an Indian man who drove the Proton Perdana, two women and two children of Malay descent from the Proton Saga.
“They were all given preliminary treatment and handed over to health staff for further actions,” he said.
The rescue operation which ended at 3.26pm was manned by Senior Fire Officer II Noor Ahmad Mohd Sharif.
