Established back in 1904 as a maternity house that provided free maternity services for Chinese women, the Perak Chinese Maternity Hospital (PCMH) has grown gradually ever since.
Evolving throughout the years, it is now known as the Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH), a multidisciplinary healthcare provider.
The Hospital established its very own Dialysis Centre in 1994, even before the official rebranding from PCMH to PCSH in 2003.
At that time, the Centre was only equipped with three dialysis machines operating on a 2-shift basis, and had only 12 patients.
The PCSH Dialysis Centre has expanded over the years and it now manages to accommodate a total of 18 machines with 86 regular patients coming in on a 3-shift basis from Monday to Saturday. This also includes public holidays.
To replace the old existing machines for better and improved services, 10 new units were purchased recently in 2021. With the new units, PCSH hopes to provide an effective, efficient and comfortable treatment for the community.
