Five houses were consumed by fire at Kampung Padang Tembak in Teluk Intan, Perak at night yesterday (May 10).
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that an emergency call was received at around 9.47pm.
“Upon arrival, three B-class houses of 50×80 feet in size were already 90 percent destroyed, along with a motorcycle. Two more houses, a B-class of 60×80 was 15 percent burnt and another, a C-class of 20×60 was 18 percent burnt.
“Two hose reels with four jets (two at the front and two at the sides) were used to extinguish the fire. No victims were involved.
“The operation involved 53 staff from fire and rescue stations (BBP) in Teluk Intan, Hutan Melintang and volunteer fire brigades from Teluk Intan, Langkap and Batu 12.
“The fire was brought under control by 12.30am today (May 11). The operation was led by Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd Ismail Mohd Yunus,” he explained.
