Oil Factory Cabin and Containers Consumed by Fire, No Victims Reported

A cabin and two containers of an oil palm factory at Jalan Teluk Intan in Langkap, Perak were destroyed in a fire that broke out earlier today (May 28).

According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call regarding the incident was received at around 4.18pm.

“A squad and a vehicle from Teluk Intan’s Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and volunteer fire brigade (PBS), along with the PBS from Langkap and Batu 12 were rushed to the scene right after.

“Upon arrival, the cabin and two containers which were storing kaolinite, both located behind the factory, were already 85 percent damaged by the fire.

“The squad subsequently used three 200 feet hose reels with four water-based jets each to fully extinguish the fire. No victims were reported.

“The cause of the fire is still under investigation,” he explained.

The operation which ended at around 5.53pm was led by Assistant Fire Superintendent (PPgB) Mohd Ismail Mohd Yunus.
