A senior citizen met his demise when a tree branch crashed into his motorcycle near a traffic light at Taman Universiti in Tanjung Malim, Perak, earlier today (June 3).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call regarding the incident was received at around 4.41pm.
“Upon the arrival of a squad and a vehicle from the Tanjung Malim Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), the tree branch was found to have collided with the Honda EX5 motorcycle.
“The incident involved a motorcyclist, a 67-year-old Perakean who had been verified dead when he was rushed to the hospital.
“His remains have been handed over to the police for further actions.
“The squad, aided by staff of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), subsequently removed the tree branch and cleaned the surrounding area of the incident,” he explained.
The operation which ended at around 5.32pm was led by Assistant Fire Superintendent (PPgB) Mohd Zairul Fahmi Mohd Nazari.
