A Burmese foreigner aged 21 was found dead after drowning at a mine in Jalan Pasir Kuala Kampar earlier today (June 8).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), a call from the police was received regarding the incident at around 10.50pm yesterday (June 7).
“JBPM was informed that the victim had drowned at around 7pm. A squad and a vehicle from the Kampar Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the location right after.
“The search-and-rescue operation was also aided by a Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) and a K9 Unit.
“The victim’s remains were found 12 feet under the mine at around 11.45am today.
“They were handed over to the police for further actions,” he explained.
The operation which ended at around 12.15pm was led by Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent (PKPgB) Meor Mohamad Ali Meor Hussin.
