An accident involving two vehicles and a victim occurred at Kampung New Colombia along the Ipoh-Lumut Expressway today (June 17).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call was received at around 10.22am.
“A squad and a vehicle from the Ayer Tawar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the scene right after.
“Upon arrival, it was shown that a Proton Satria car had crashed into the back of a trailer.
“The victim who was the car driver, a man aged 29, sustained injuries on his head while being trapped in his vehicle.
“He was rescued using special tools to break the car door open and was subsequently handed over to on-site ambulance staff for further actions.
“The trailer driver, however, was unscathed,” the spokesperson explained.
The operation which ended at around 11.23am was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Shahril Che Halim.
