Having given thought to what it can do for students whose learning journeys have been disrupted by prolonged school closures, education group Bonanza Educare is offering free online tuition classes for primary and secondary students in Perak and Negeri Sembilan.
Bonanza Educare Director of Education Ms Evelyn Chen said the online tuition classes will be taught by a team of experienced and highly qualified teachers from its tuition centre, Tuition Labz.
“We want students to know that quality education can also be obtained close to home and this is us giving back to our young ones.
“We want to assure them that they do not have to suffer despite this challenging period. They still have the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Chen.
According to Chen, the subjects to be taught are Bahasa Melayu (Malay language), English, Mandarin, General Science, General Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Additional Mathematics.
Classes will be conducted once a week for a duration of one hour per subject throughout the months of July and August ,with students being divided into Lower Primary (Standard 1 to Standard 3), Upper Primary (Standard 4 to Standard 6), Lower Secondary (Form 1 to Form 3), and Upper Secondary (Form 4 and Form 5) levels.
Tuition Labz teachers:
Miss Caroline Samuel
Miss Caroline will be teaching English and Bahasa Melayu to all levels during online tuition classes. In English, she has produced top scoring students in the IGCSE, MOET, TOEFL and IELTS exams during her 26 years of teaching at various national and international schools. She also teaches Bahasa Melayu to students sitting for the UPSR, PT3 and SPM examinations. Miss Caroline has a Masters in Education from Asia E. University.
Miss Yao Jia Qi
Miss Yao will be teaching Mandarin to primary school students during online classes. A Japanese Language graduate from Hua Qiao University, China, she currently teaches HSK Mandarin and has previously worked in China and South America. She is fluent in Mandarin, English, Japanese and the Cantonese dialect.
Miss Paveswari Sithambaranathan
Miss Paveswari will be teaching all Science subjects and Mathematics subjects during online classes. Armed with a PhD in Chemical Engineering, she has 10 years of experience tutoring, and has also taught IGSCE Science and Mathematics in Lower and Upper Secondary levels. She has previously worked at the Shell Refining Company Bhd, and conducted research at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia during her tenure there as a research assistant.
Classes are free with participants only needing to pay RM20 per subject in administrative costs for two months, July and August.
