Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department Director, Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim, 59, was appointed as the 27th Deputy Inspector General of Police effective today (June 25).
The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) said in a statement that Mazlan’s appointment has been approved by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Based on the statement, Mazlan, who was born on December 25, 1961 in Kota Setar, Kedah, holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Resource Economics.
He has held positions in the district as Deputy District Police Chief (TKPD) Melaka Tengah, Melaka, TKPD Tanah Merah, Kelantan, TKPD Shah Alam, Selangor, District Police Chief (KPD) Padang Besar, Perlis and KPD Seberang Perai Utara, Penang.
Apart from that, he was also a Training Staff Officer at Kuala Kubu Bharu Police College, Selangor and Budget Officer, Bukit Aman Training Division,” the statement mentioned.
In addition, KDN stated that at the contingent or state level, he had served as the Kelantan Deputy Chief of Police before being promoted and then appointed as the Kelantan Chief of Police.
