According to Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) in a media statement today (June 27), Phase 1 of the total movement control order (MCO) is to remain in the National Recovery Plan until the three main threshold indicators are achieved.
The three indicators are: average daily cases of COVID-19 to reduce to below 4,000 cases, the rate of bed usage in ICUs to be at a moderate level, and vaccination rate of the population who have completed two doses to reach 10%.
“Thus the transition from Phase 1 to Phase 2 will take into consideration the three indicators before the decision is made. Based on the risk assessment done by the Ministry of Health, the government will continue the period of Phase 1 nationwide,” he said.
He also announced that operation hours of premises selling food are permitted from 6am till 10pm effective June 28. Previously, food shops and restaurants were permitted to operate from 8am till 8pm.
“For phase one of the National Recovery Plan, the general SOPs of MCO 3.0 are still effective whereby all social and economic activities are not permitted except for essential sectors listed in the positive list issued by the National Security Council,” he added.
