Bonanza Venture Holdings (BVH) has reached out to more people in need, giving out much needed daily essentials to vulnerable families and orphanages in Ipoh and Batu Gajah.
As part of its ongoing commitment to support the community, BVH distributed additional care packs to 30 families going through tough times due to the pandemic at the Buntong Harmoni Flats, Ipoh. Each pack contained food items such as rice, cooking oil, noodles and cereal.
The BVH team also visited Pusat Jagaan Pertubuhan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Setia in Silibin, Ipoh to deliver food items and cleaning supplies for its 36 residents. The team similarly delivered essential supplies to the 42 residents at Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cacat in Batu Gajah. Both orphanages, which rely on public funding, have been hit hard in the past year as donations have run dry.
BVH Executive Director of Operations Edwin Tan, said that BVH, an Ipoh-based holdings company which includes Kinta Properties, Meru Valley Resort, Ban Hoe Seng Auto and Bonanza Educare, has been supporting vulnerable families and individuals affected by the pandemic through various funding and volunteering initiatives.
“We are proud to support more than 350 vulnerable families throughout the pandemic.
“Teams that are normally serving golfers and tourists have been using their skills to source and deliver care packages and feed volunteers at PCSH’s vaccine drive. Our education team is delivering free tuition lessons to primary and secondary students.
“We believe that by working together we can get through this pandemic.”
Ms Helen, Chairperson of Buntong Harmony Flats Rukun Tetangga said, “Many of our residents are elderly and disabled while others are daily wage earners. They have been relying on the kindness of others to survive throughout this difficult period.”
“We are grateful to BVH for generously donating care packs to our residents the second time around,” said Madam Helen, adding that her committee was in the midst of setting up a soup kitchen at the flats.
Mr. Siva, President of Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cacat, Batu Gajah said, “The orphanage requires RM20,000 a month to run and due to the lockdown we have not received many donations. To make matters worse, we are unable to organise any fundraising events as we usually do to gather funds.”
Since the start of the pandemic, the BVH group of companies have distributed more than 350 care packs to vulnerable families, encouraged employees to volunteer at Perak Chinese Specialist Hospital’s (PCSH) vaccination drive, kept child care services open to children of frontline workers and helped primary and secondary students with free live tuition lessons.
Kinta Properties also offers a special rebate of RM5,000 or 1%, whichever is higher, to help emergency workers looking to purchase new homes. The special rebate is on top of existing promotions when purchasing a home at Bandar Baru Sri Klebang.
