A fire broke out in a trailer lorry at KM305.2 of the PLUS North-South Expressway (Northbound) earlier today (June 29).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call regarding the incident was received at around 7am.
“A squad and a vehicle from the Gopeng Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) aided by Tapah BBP were rushed to the location immediately after.
“Upon arrival, the lorry which was transporting paper boxes had already been consumed by fire, with damages around 40 percent.
“The squad used a hose reel to fully extinguish the fire. No victims were involved,” he explained, adding that investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
The operation which ended at around 9.04am was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Zulkifli Hussin Basri.
