An accident involving a lorry and two victims occurred at KM223 of the PLUS North-South Expressway (Northbound) earlier today (June 30).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call was received at around 5.50am.
“A squad and a vehicle from the Taiping Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were immediately deployed to the location of the incident.
“Upon arrival, the 3-tonne lorry which was transporting frozen meat was found to have flipped and crashed into a road divider.
“The accident involved two victims. One of them was rescued by public witnesses, having sustained only minor injuries, while the other had his legs stuck in the seat.
“The squad subsequently used rescue tools to get the stuck victim out of the crash site. Both victims were handed over to on-site health staff for further actions,” he explained.
The operation which ended at around 7.25am was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) TBK Raduan.
