A fire broke out in a Public Works Department (JKR) building near Kampung Temiang in Ipoh earlier today (July 5).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call was received at around 8.04am.
“A squad and a vehicle from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the location.
“Upon arrival, the fire was found to have already consumed the A-class administration unit of the building of 150×40 feet. Damage was around 40 percent.
“The squad, aided by Ipoh BBP and volunteer fire brigades from Pekan Baru and Menglembu, used two hose reels of 200ft with four water-based jets to fully extinguish the fire.
“No victims were involved,” the spokesperson explained, adding that investigation to determine the cause of the fire is ongoing.
The operation which ended at around 10.24am was led by Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent (PKPgB) Fadzeli Che Hussin.
