Luck was on the side of a car driver when he successfully saved himself after his Nissan Teana caught fire at Jalan Lang Indah, Gunung Lang here this afternoon (July 10).
The incident occurred at around 12.55pm and 80 percent of the vehicle was destroyed.
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department said that they received an emergency call at 12.58pm from the public.
According to him, a squad with machinery from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene to put out the fire.
“When the fire brigade arrived, the driver, who wasn’t injured, managed to get out before the fire spread. The fire was extinguished using two water hoses,” the spokesperson mentioned.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohd. Rosli Ibrahim and ended at 1.32pm.
