“Thank you Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud and Council Member of the Ipoh City Council (MBI), Puteri for assisting small traders like us through the MBI Prihatin (MBI Cares) Programme,” said 35-year-old Ain Nuddin Mohamad Azli, who is operating a fried chicken business at Jalan Tambun.
“This fried chicken business is my wife’s initiative to cover three homestay rentals that are currently not operating.
“The MBI Prihatin program is very helpful for entrepreneurs like us who require more income. Besides that, this programme also helps promote our fried chicken and eventually attract more new customers,” he told Ipoh Echo yesterday (July 12).
MBI Zone 2 (Hulu Kinta) Council Member, Puteri Holijah Muhamad Rali said that many entrepreneurs have resorted to running small businesses after their main businesses were disrupted by the pandemic.
“Ayam Goreng Percuma (free fried chicken) under the MBI Prihatin Programme has a mission to help people of different backgrounds in line with the Mayor’s hopes for the less fortunate community to receive aid without any being left behind.
“A total of 2,000 packets of fried chicken were distributed to the public via drive thru. Utmost gratitude also to the Resident Committee (JKP) who helped to distribute the contribution from 3pm to 4pm,” she said.
