An accident which involved three victims, including one casualty, occurred at Kampung Jeram along the Ipoh-Kampar main route earlier today (July 14).
According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call was received at around 10.38am.
“A squad and two vehicles from the Gopeng Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were immediately dispatched to the location of the incident.
“Upon arrival, it was found that a Perodua Myvi and Proton Persona had collided into each other.
“The Perodua Myvi driver was killed on the spot, while the passenger sustained injuries after being stuck in the crash site. The driver was confirmed dead by an on-site medical officer.
“The Proton Persona driver also sustained injuries due to the impact of the collision.
“The squad proceeded to get the trapped victim out using rescue tools. The remains of the deceased victim were handed over to the police, while the injured ones to the ambulance for further actions,” he explained.
The operation which ended at around 11.25am was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Tarmizi Rasid.
