Face-to-face school sessions will begin on September 1 in phases for all schools including private schools.
The Ministry of Education in a statement informed that the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) sessions will be extended till August 31.
According to the statement, the Ministry is also always in close collaboration with the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to ensure that the vaccination rate among school staff is increased.
“As of July 16, a total of 253,366 people or 61.30% of teachers and administrators, as well as 10,876 people (46.33%) of support staff have received at least one dose of vaccine.
“The decision to continue PdPR till the end of August and to begin face-to-face school sessions in September in phases is made by taking the vaccination rate into consideration,” the statement added.
The Ministry will continue to take into consideration the risk assessment by the Ministry of Health and the National Security Council for possibilities of the schedule to be altered.
“Further information on the face-to-face school sessions will be announced a week before at the latest,” the statement said.
