A fire broke out in an empty house lot near Jalan Dato Onn Jaafar in Ipoh earlier today (July 18).
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that an emergency call was received at around 10.13am.
“Upon arrival of a squad and a vehicle from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), the C-class house of 20×30 feet had already been consumed by the fire, having around 80 percent of the structure destroyed.
“Aided by Meru Raya BBP and volunteer fire brigades (PBS) from Pekan Baru, Pasir Pinji and Menglembu, the fire was extinguished using two 100ft hose reels with four water-based jets.
“The fire was brought under control by 10.55am. No victims were involved,” he explained, adding that investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Mohamed Khariri Ahmad Shaibi.
