Perak will only transition into the third phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) when the number of fully vaccinated individuals is at least 40 percent of the state population.
The Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad commented so when asked by reporters during a media session at the vaccination centre (PPV) at Casuarina Convention Centre today (July 23).
“Perak has received 452,610 out of the scheduled total of 688,760 vaccine doses as of now, for this month of July.
“The state actually has the capacity to administer more than 30,000 doses of vaccine per day. However, the number is subject to the latest situation in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
“I was informed that priority is being given to other states that record increasing numbers of infections.
“The state will be receiving the remaining 236,150 doses by the end of this month, in which only then will the state be able to progress towards transitioning into the NRP’s third phase on time,” he elaborated.
As of July 21, the number of vaccine doses in stock for Perak is 288,000.
