A man who was aged 52 succumbed to injuries after the Perodua Axia he was driving flipped into a drain in front of Restoran Naina Mohamad along Jalan Kuala Kangsar in Ipoh today (August 6).
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that an emergency call regarding the incident was received at around 5.45pm.
“It was believed that the deceased was en route to Jalan Kuala Kangsar from Kampung Tawas.
“He was confirmed dead by on-site health staff before the arrival of a squad and a vehicle from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP).
“The squad proceeded to remove the victim from the car using special equipment.
“His remains were handed over to the police for further actions,” the spokesperson explained.
The operation which ended at around 6.20pm was led by Senior Fire Officer II PBK II R. Mathavan.
