Leong Poh Yee who is 28 years old is in ICU infected with COVID-19 and is fighting for her life. There was no room for her at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun and her family had no choice but to put her in a private hospital which is Pantai Hospital Ipoh. Pantai Hospital took her in despite receiving no payment for the deposit initially.
ICU Care is costly and Pantai was compassionate in accepting her. However, the family is at their wits’ end as to how else to fund the ICU treatment and taking her out of the ICU is hazardous at this point. Poh Yee’s parents run a noodle stall and business has been sporadic since the start of MCO.
