Festival allows school and university students to showcase their creativity in photojournalism, digital storytelling and the performing arts
Quest International University (QIU)’s first-ever Festival of Creativity is set to provide local youth with an unprecedented opportunity to unleash their creative potential this September.
Co-organised with the Perak state education department, this virtual celebration of creativity and diversity will provide meaningful spaces of expression for students to reimagine themselves through three exciting competitions in photojournalism, digital storytelling and performing arts.
The competition, which will be held on Zoom on September 4, 2021, is targeted at secondary school students between Form 4 and Form 6, as well as for college and university Foundation students. Winners will each receive the ‘FoC Creative Icon Award’.
In the spirit of encouraging creativity at its purest, no registration fees will be charged for any competitions. All proceeds will be channelled to two charitable organisations in Ipoh—Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim/Miskin Dahikmah in Gopeng and Vision Home.
QIU Chief Operating Officer, Nicholas Goh said: “The game-changing ideas of tomorrow will come from the creativity that we inspire today. As an educational institution, we want to give today’s youth the spark they need to unleash their true potential.”
Faculty of Social Sciences Deputy Dean, Professor Dr Adeline Kok added: “Creative industry gurus and celebrities will also be sharing their experiences and ideations. We want to inspire the participants and show them what they can be if they are determined to follow their passion.”
