DUN Members Absent from Meeting Identified
The three state legislative assembly members (ADUNs) who could not make the DUN meeting have been identified, namely Mohd Zaidi Aziz, Dr Ko Chung Sen and Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad.
When contacted by the media today (August 25), ADUN for Slim constituency, Mohd Zaidi Aziz disclosed himself as the one who had tested positive for COVID-19 and as such, he will not be participating in the four-day DUN meeting which commenced today.
“I was tested positive on Sunday (August 22) and I’m currently undergoing quarantine at home until August 31,” the ADUN who won the 2020 Slim by-election in August last year explained.
Kepayang ADUN, Dr Ko Chung Sen was traced as a close contact to an existing case.
“Although my test results returned negative, I’ll still undergo quarantine at home as a precautionary measure
“Should my second swab test this Friday turn out negative too, I might be able to participate in the last day of the meeting on August 30,” he explained.
Hulu Kinta ADUN, Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad clarified that he had already obtained full dosage of the COVID-19 inoculation.
“It’s just that it hasn’t been 14 days past my second dose, as per guidelines by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Security Council (MKN),” he added.
Previously, State Assembly Speaker Dato’ Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid told reporters during a media session on Monday (August 23) that three ADUNs will be absent from the meeting.
