The police of Perak has reclassified a case involving the death of a security guard here in Ipoh recently.
According to the state police chief, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, the case was referred to the Public Prosecutor yesterday (August 30).
*We suggested to the prosecutor that the suspect involved be sentenced with a higher charge.
“As such, the case was categorised under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, on the day of the victim’s demise in August 27.
“The police are still awaiting further instructions from the prosecutor.
“If convicted, the suspect will be sentenced to a mandatory death by hanging,” he explained in a statement issued late at night yesterday.
