A landslide is reported to have occurred at federal road FT185 Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands yesterday evening, causing the route at 42.95 km to be fully closed to vehicles last night.
The Public Works Department (JKR) of Kinta District in a statement explained that the incident involved a 30-meter-long and 5-meter-wide lane which was detected at 5.45pm yesterday.
According to the statement, following the incident, the 43.9 Section is fully closed to all traffic flow beginning 9pm last night.
“The landslide at the slope could be due to the continuous rain that weakened the land structure.
“Following that, the department, together with concession company Belati Wangsa (M) Sdn Bhd, have conducted monitoring at the location involved,” the statement added.
Road users can make use of an alternative route which is Laluan FT059.
