Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has stressed that only out-of-school teenagers, students of higher learning institutions (IPT) and homeschooling teenagers are allowed to walk in for vaccination.
He said that apart from these groups of teenagers, vaccination will be carried out on a scheduled basis at 156 vaccination centres (PPVs) as well as in schools.
“Today, there are still those not belonging to these groups who have attempted to obtain walk-in vaccination, and they have been asked to wait for their appointments which will be informed either by their school or through the MySejahtera application.
“I advise parents not to rush to the PPVs because the vaccination schedule will be organised in collaboration with the District Health Office (PKD) and the District Education Office (PPD) in advance. Parents and guardians will be informed of appointments,” he said.
He also advised parents to bring their children for their inoculation according to the date and time set so that crowding can be avoided.
“Today, I was informed that there was some overcrowding at the Petaling Jaya Civic Hall. There were various reasons for this but the main one was due to the presence of many who did not follow their set appointments,” he mentioned at a press conference today (September 24).
