Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar shared on his Twitter page explaining that the country only needs four percent more of the national vaccination rate to lift the interstate travel ban.
“With more relaxation granted, group activities will surely be carried out. In this regard, all Malaysians must be responsible for their own actions.
“Those who experience symptoms should immediately do a screening test through an antigen self test kit. If tested positive, immediately undergo the isolation process,” he said.
With the encouraging development, Khairy Jamaluddin reminded Malaysians to continue to be responsible for self-control.
Currently, the national vaccination rate is increasing continuously with 86.8 percent of the adult population having completed their vaccinations.
In another development, Khairy Jamaluddin said his party has started a negotiation process to obtain the COVID-19 antiviral drug produced by Merck & Co.
According to him, it is an effort made to enable the country to move towards life with COVID-19.
Apart from that, he said the addition of innovative treatment options will also be done aside from vaccination.
“In our efforts to move on to living with COVID-19, we will add innovative treatment options as an additional effort besides vaccination.
“I have started the negotiation process for Malaysia to obtain effective medicine after going through clinical trials,” he tweeted.
