The target of 80% of adult residents in the state to be fully vaccinated has been achieved via the latest figure on October 10 as expected.
The data released by the Perak COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) showed that 80.2% or 1,494,272 adults have received two doses of vaccines.
The total number of first dose recipients is 1,765,839 or 94.8%.
Executive Councillor for Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology, Mohd Akmal Kamarudin explained that the daily vaccination on last Sunday totalled 16,277 people.
“Thankfully, Perak has surpassed 80% vaccination.
“Thank you to all who have provided support, especially the frontliners,” he said via a Facebook post.
The Kampar district is ahead with the highest rate of full vaccination in the state with 103.4% or 82,201 people.
Two more districts recording a high vaccination rate are Manjung district at 88.3% (162,925) and Hulu Perak district at 84.9% (62,011).
The Kinta district has the highest number of residents registered as vaccine recipients (560,139), with 482,452 or 79.3% having been fully vaccinated.
The total number of registered residents is 1,637,869 or 87.9% of the population.
