An orphanage in Manjoi is in need of funds to pay the land rent.
Secretary of Pusat Jagaan Anak-anak Yatim dan Miskin Nurul Iman (a centre for orphans and the poor), Norazilah Ahmad Mazlan said a rental sponsorship of RM4,200 is needed.
“Usually, the rent is paid annually with that amount. However, for the year 2021, we have yet to obtain any funds.
“The land belongs to an individual and in two more months, the rent will be due,” Norazilah told Ipoh Echo today (October 27).
She was quoted as saying after receiving a contribution of food aid from the Ipoh City Council (MBI) in collaboration with Econsave Supermarket.
Council Member, Syed Mohd Noor Hisam Syed Hassan, together with Econsave North Division 2 General Manager, Chua Yong Chiang presented the food items under the MBI Prihatin programme to the centre.
A total of 20 residents of the centre are studying via home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) due to the pandemic.
