MBI Appointed as Collaborative Partner of Art In The City 2021

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has been appointed as a collaborative partner of Art In The City 2021.

The event features various art programmes such as forums, classes, dialogues, launch of products, festivals and exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur and several other locations nationwide beginning October 14 till December 28.

Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md. Daud received the appointment award from the Minister of Communication and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), Tan Sri Datuk Seri Annuar Musa at the Ilham Ballroom, Element, Westin Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Present was CEO of the Cultural Economy Development Agency (CENDANA), Izan Satrina Mohd Sallehuddin.

The annual Art In The City programme is a collaboration between several Ministries, government agencies and private parties. It is led by CENDANA as among the important efforts under Budget 2021 and National People’s Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (PEMULIH).

CENDANA is established to boost the creative ecosystem by energising arts, empowering the creative community and pioneering the reorganisation of policies. Its mission is for Malaysia to be known for its talented artists and to make arts and culture among the main catalysts of the nation’s economy.

CENDANA is established under MyCreative Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (a company fully owned by MOF Inc.) which reports back to KKMM.

The strategic partnership is aimed to recover the arts and culture sector post-COVID-19 and revive the nation’s creative economy.
