The Slope Unit of the Public Works Department (JKR) is always monitoring soil movement at the area of Section 27, Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands, to avoid any further risk.
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said there is still soil movement at the landslide area which requires comprehensive monitoring by JKR.
“JKR also has equipment capable of detecting soil movement along the road leading to Cameron Highlands.
“We still close the road due to there being signs of soil movement at the hills along it.
“The landslide incident is under the action of the Slope Unit of JKR. The entry road to Cameron Highlands via Simpang Pulai has already been closed.
“Meanwhile, members of the public can use the alternative route which is from Tapah to go to Cameron Highlands,” he said when asked about the landslide incident after officiating the Perak Youth Assembly Sitting at Casuarina @ Meru Hotel yesterday.
