The Ipoh City Council (MBI) recently channeled aid to Zahari Mohamed Noh, 58, who has been suffering from paralysis for 15 years and then tested positive for COVID-19, leading to health complications of his internal organs.
Public Relations Officer of MBI, Syahrizal Azmi explained that besides reducing his burden, the presented contribution is a form of appreciation to Zahari who had served the MBI for 25 years.
“We were informed in October that Zahari was tested positive for COVID-19 and had recovered. However, he still experiences serious complications involving infection of the kidney and liver.
“The right side of his body is paralysed after a minor stroke in 2006. He is now being cared for by his daughter.
“Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin agreed to contribute a bed for his comfort and ease his daily treatment,” Syahrizal said during his visit to Zahari’s home in Parit recently.
Meanwhile, Zahari’s daughter, Nursheril Aniss Zahari, 30, said his father currently depends on milk consumption every four hours as his daily source of food.
“Besides the cost of milk, there are also disposable diapers (pampers), wet tissues and others. He has to undergo follow-up treatment every two weeks at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital and Batu Gajah Hospital.
“I’m a housewife with four schooling kids. My husband works at a private company with a small salary. Our income is barely enough. We live in a village house with a rental of RM100 a month.
“I welcome any aid to ease my father’s medical matters. Our whole family would like to express our utmost gratitude for the generous individuals who are willing to help to reduce our burden,” she expressed.
At the same time, state assemblyperson (ADUN) for Belanja, Khairudin Abu Hanipah also contributed some allowance while the Manager of Econsave Jelapang Branch, Shah Effendy Rosman contributed Ensure milk, adult diapers and food items.
Members of the public who wish to lend a helping hand can do so via the Maybank account, 108010493718 (Zahari Mohamed Noh) or visit his home at Jalan Dato Bakri Rais, Kampung Dusun Hilir, 32800 Layang-Layang Kiri, Parit, Perak.
