TREVO, Malaysia’s largest car sharing marketplace, has now expanded its service to Ipoh!
Held in strict adherence to the health and safety standard operating procedures, its official launch unfolded on Friday, January 7 at the event hall of Sarang Paloh Heritage Stay.
“TREVO was launched in February 2020 in Kuala Lumpur. Ipoh is the fifth city we cover after Klang Valley, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Johor Bahru,” Susan Teoh, General Manager of TREVO Malaysia explained to Ipoh Echo.
According to her, the app-based, peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace is a subsidiary of Socar Malaysia.
When asked on the potential of TREVO in Ipoh, Susan highlighted: “Socar is already here before us, so we can actually look at Socar’s data. We are always confident about Ipoh because it is a tourist attraction.”
“A lot of people commute by cars as Ipohites are still very car-oriented. If your cars are not being used and idle, why not put it on our platform for extra income and get the tourists or people who need cars to access yours,” the Ipoh girl expressed.
“We provide the trust and safety measures to ensure your car is being shared out in very safe condition. From the guests’ perspective, they can be sure that the rented car is in good condition (no older than 10 years), licensed, with valid insurance and road tax among others,” she shared.
TREVO enables hosts to utilise depreciating assets to generate income while guests can book any car whenever and stay at home while the car is being delivered. A 24/7 roadside assistance is also provided.
Thus, it forms a community in the new sharing economy. Overall, the TREVO community comprises more than 200,000 members of median age 20 to 35 years old.
“We have super hosts who started off with one car and now listed up to 15 cars on the platform. Some of them are retirees as well,” the amiable Susan enthused.
To date, about 200 vehicles of a wide range of models are listed on TREVO for Ipoh.
