The Sunway Group will soon open a medical centre and shopping centre in the integrated township of Sunway City Ipoh measuring 1,350 acres by 2025.
Founder and also Chairperson of Sunway Group, Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah said the expansion work of Jalan Tambun, valued at RM16 million, is the new addition to the group investment of RM2 thousand million at the city.
“The expansion effort of Jalan Tambun is expected to reduce traffic congestion and increase the accessibility of the East Development Corridor, Ipoh.
“The upgrade work valued at RM16 million is the latest effort in a series of collaborations between Sunway and the state government since the early 2000s to boost the city economy,” he explained.
He said so after the groundbreaking ceremony of the upgrade project of Jalan Tambun at Sunway City on Monday.
Present was Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin.
According to him, the medical centre valued at RM350 million will have 200 beds and will be open in 2024.
Besides that, the shopping centre will have a rentable area of 700,000 square feet and 2,700 parking spots.
