Victims of a storm incident which hit several areas in Simpang Pulai on Sunday will receive emergency aid to reduce their burdens.
Among the affected residential houses are at Taman Bersatu, Tekkah, Serdang Permai, Tanjung and Kampung Baru Simpang Kpg Pulai.
MCA Gopeng Division Vice Chairperson, Cally Ting explained that until yesterday, a total of 44 affected families had been registered.
According to her, the process was carried out by the Pejabat Penghulu and aided by volunteers of Barisan Nasional (BN) Gopeng at Dewan Taman Bersatu, Simpang Pulai.
“Every registered victim who is eligible will receive RM200 as financial aid and a food box from the National Disaster Management Agency.
“Besides that, BN Gopeng also allocated RM100 for every victim, making the overall aid to be RM300 in total,” she said when contacted.
BN Gopeng will also continue to work together with the Pejabat Penghulu to ensure that the victims’ houses can be repaired as soon as possible.
The storm incident which occurred between 5pm to 6pm damaged several residences especially the roofs and ceilings besides causing electricity poles to fall.
