Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud has received the Meritorious Award from Lions Club Perak recently.
Chairperson of Lions Club Perak, Dr. Richard Ng explained that the award was presented in appreciation of the leadership excellence of Rumaizi in transforming Ipoh into a low carbon city by 2030.
“Besides that, Dato’ Rumaizi also made a vital contribution to the community by the introduction of the MBI Prihatin (MBI Cares) scheme aimed to help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“His care is reflected via his philosophy which is to help the B40 group especially to achieve zero poverty and zero hunger,” he said in a statement in conjunction with the 16th anniversary of Lions Club Perak.
Three more recipients of the same award were Dato’ Normah Dato’ Ibrahim, Pathma Devi and Dato’ Ooi Chao Shyuan.
All the awards were presented by Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin binti Dato’ Mohammed Radzi.
