A total of 210,148 students in the state started face-to-face school sessions today for the 2022/2023 academic calendar.
From the total, there were 206,782 students of national schools (SK) while 3,366 students of secondary schools involved Vocational Colleges from Year 2,3 and 4.
A total of 30,648 are Standard One students out of the nationwide total of 442,828 students.
Meanwhile, a surveillance on the first day of school at SK Jalan Pegoh in Ipoh saw a busy early morning with parents’ vehicles.
Such a situation has not been observed for some time since the country was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic two years ago.
Vice President of the Parent–Teacher Association of the school, Afi Roshezry Abu Bakar informed that a total of 153 Standard One students registered for this session.
According to Afi, the attendance of new students went smoothly according to set regulations.
“Parents are to drive their children up to the gate only before handing over to the teachers involved.
“All Standard One students will undergo an orientation session for four weeks.”
Afi explained that prior to school opening, the school already held a briefing session for families via Google Meet.
