The lively state-level Raya celebration in Ipoh was attended by visitors of all ethnicities in the spirit of muhibbah (goodwill).
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the open house was held as an appreciation to all safety personnel, frontliners and all the people who collectively played their role when the country was facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
“After two years of celebrating Raya on a moderate scale due to the pandemic, we are now in the transition to an endemic phase which enables all to once again experience the joy and beauty of Aidilfitri.
“The happiness achieved today does not come coincidentally but was earned with the tears, sweat, pain and sacrifice of all when fighting the pandemic.
“Let us together appreciate the sacrifices made by Malaysians regardless of ethnicities and religions in the collective fight against COVID-19,” he said in his speech during the celebration at the premises of Stadium Indera Mulia yesterday.
It was graced by Sultan Nazrin Shah and Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim. Present was the line of executive councillors.
Various Raya dishes were served such as lemang, rendang, satay, nasi impit and kuih.
