The city of Ipoh today saw the presence of more than 80 high-powered motorcycles in conjunction with the Ipoh Joy Ride programme jointly organised by Bond Holdings Sdn Bhd, Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Sycal Ventures Berhad.
Manager for the organisation of Ipoh Joy Ride, Adnan bin Zulkifli, stated that the main objectives of the programme were to promote an exclusive lifestyle and display vehicles of exclusive brands such as Harley-Davidson, Volkswagen and Vespa.
“This programme is also able to promote the tourism destinations in the city and boost the tourism economy of the state.
“The event has successfully gathered owners of Harley-Davidson vehicles from all over the state of various ethnicities. Held for the first time, it strengthens the spirit of muhibbah (goodwill).
“Besides that, we also introduce the Ipoh International Convention Centre (IICC) and Bond Suites. It is designed with an open concept to reflect the modern lifestyle with views of limestone hills in the middle of the city,” he said during an interview at the lobby of IICC today.
The participants of the motorcycle convoy were flagged off from the IICC by state assemblyman, Dato’ Mohammad Zahir Dato’ Abdul Khalid accompanied by CEO of Bond Holdings Sdn Bhd, Ong Teng Boon and Council Member of MBI, Dato’ Ahmad Hariri Kamarudin.
Among the tourism destinations to be visited by the convoy are the Concubine Lane, Heritage Building of Ipoh Train Station and Gunung Lang Recreational Park with the IICC being the final destination.
