The Ipoh City Day (SUTBRI) which is celebrated on May 27 every year now resumes after being postponed for 2 years due to the pandemic.
Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the celebration this year is a special gift to Ipohites of all ethnicities.
“The programmes planned are of significance in line with the vision of the Ipoh City Council (MBI) to make Ipoh a low-carbon and smart city among others by 2030.
“Thus, a total of 17 programmes and activities will be carried out as MBI’s appreciation for Ipohites.
“Members of the public are welcome to participate in the programmes to enliven the celebration this year in compliance with the standard operating procedures,” he said after launching the celebration recently.
Among the upcoming activities are:

- Special gathering of Ipoh City Day
- Discounts of up to 70% on MBI traffic compounds
- Free use of the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre and field
- Free boat rides at the Gunung Lang Recreational Park
- Discounts of up to 50% on entry tickets at the Petting Zoo of Gunung Lang Recreational Park

The programmes are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to make Ipoh the main tourism city in the country based on the concept of 3H (Heritage, Hipster & Health) by 2025 and a low-carbon city by 2030 among others.
