The Perak State Women and Community Development Secretariat (Wanita Perak) will apply for additional allocation in next year’s budget especially for women development programmes.
Executive Councillor for Women and Family Development and Community Welfare, Datuk Dr Wan Noorashikin Wan Noordin stated that the allocation is necessary as the previous budget was reduced following the pandemic.
“For next year, we have planned to apply for additional funds to carry out programmes.
“For example, now we have a new programme named BizMan. It aims to assist men running small businesses as previously we had BizNita for women running small businesses. We provide equipment and guidance to them.
She said so to the media during the “Karnival Mesra Wanita Perak (Kawan Mesra) 2022” programme at Laman Seri Ridzuan on Tuesday.
Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, wife of Menteri Besar Perak, was present to officiate the programme.
Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad was also present during the forum session.
According to Dr Wan Norashikin, the carnival was specially held for the women in the state with participants from 12 districts in Perak.
“We organise carnivals and forums on women being the family’s inspiration, in line with the Menteri Besar’s Perak Sejahtera Plan.
Meanwhile, Saarani in his speech highlighted the important role of women in the development of a country.
He also expressed appreciation to Wanita Perak, which serves as an agency to coordinate policies related to women and social development at state government level.
