“Thank you for everyone’s assistance in helping the patients in need.”
Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) blood bank that is in desperate need of public contributions expressed its appreciation to everyone who lent a hand.
Blood is needed to save lives. Hence, every blood donation is important to help sustain the lives of people with medical conditions.
Held at the Carsem Banquet Hall, Kampung Melayu Sungai Rapat, the Blood Donation Programme organised by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) received encouraging response.
More than 80 donors came forward to donate blood. The programme was a success with the cooperation of the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK).
Sungai Rapat Zone 21 MBI council member, Ustaz Abu Bakar Hussian said, the programme was also organised in conjunction with the World Blood Donor Day Celebration.
According to him, the organisation aims to replenish blood supply that is dropping to a low level due to various factors including the lack of donors.
“Those who came to donate were Royal Malaysian Air Force personnel and Carsem staff as well as locals.
“This is also the 6th blood donation we have done and the effort will continue from time to time to help the HRPB,” he said.
The programme was officiated by the Chief of Mukim Ulu Kinta, Dr. Mohd. Sani Kamaruddin.
Donors were also provided with breakfast such as nasi lemak and light refreshments before the donation.
In the meantime, Ustaz Abu Bakar said more community-based programmes have been proposed in Zone 21 Sungai Rapat which will benefit the residents.
He said the programme organised by MBI not only took into account the interests of the community, but also indirectly could be a platform to encourage cooperation between the local authorities and the city folks.
